What Hinduism offers for teenagers

      What Hinduism offers for teenagers

The word 'hinduism' is related with the motive of community living where rituals donot overpower metaphysics which is well defined in the 9 schools of Indian philosophy. They are charvaka, Jain, Bauddha, Vaishesika, Nyaya, Samkhya, Yoga, Purva Mimansa and Vedanta or Uttara Mimansa. In a chronological order they teach, train, tune the body mind and intellect. They do not reject theology but takes it as 'philosophical theology' where a inner meaning is added to the ritualistic pattern but donot support fanatism and vested interest while seeing the inner or the implied meaning of theology.

All the 9 schools of Indian philosophy are actually darshan but for convenience the word 'philosophy' is used. From charvaka to vedanta - a chronological order where none forces to accept own conclusion on the basis of faith. They are all useful, that's why still alive in and outside the body. The word 'darshan' means experience which contains level. It is dependent on one's own capacity of knowing absolute reality and its application in the transactional reality or in behavior.

Q 1 - Can religion explain cognition, mind, consciousness and things like that? State the reason for your answer.
Ans 1 - Religion based on rituals, customs, culture, topography will give numerous interpretations so their view can't be a proof in the long run and that also for those belonging to other traditions or simply following the view 'do as you like'.

Q 2- What about philosophy?
Ans 2 - The word 'philosophy' is normally used to describe personal view which is promoted in an era due to various reasons. Normally it stays at argumentative level. One formula is the trio of study, reasoning and experience. A fanatic follower of one or two will go on digging. Due to this it is famous that keep 10 philosophers in a room and you will get eleventh philosophy.

Q 3 - How do you see the status of both - religion and philosophy from a common angle?
Ans 3 - Every theory coming from human intellect will be fragile. Dogmatic attitude will govern both them. The case of religion is severe where you're not allowed to question the doctrines.

Q 4 - Than how Indian philosophy take us on the right path?
Ans 4 - The Indian philosophy isn't rigid and never forces own conclusions on others. There is a chronological order of saying and seeing the world in and outside the body. And that is time tested.

Q 5 - Where one can find the primary source of Indian philosophy?
Ans 5 - The Vedic literature contains the sutras or principles directly or in codified way. In short one can go through the authentic upanishads for that. Later they were separated under various heads and things were added to give a different look by the followers of a particular school.

Q 6 - What do you mean by veda?
Ans 6 - The root 'vid' means to know or get the required information which is 'knowing'. It becomes knowledge after analytical experience (conclusion of the experiment)
or in many cases direct knowledge where experiment isn't needed. That information or knowledge or both is known as veda.

Q 7 - Why few topics are taken or taught as non vaidik?
Ans 7 - Personal like - dislike of sponsors including sampradayas, rulers, rich class dictated their terms and conditions. Tendency of controlling the resources is a human nature and joint effort is needed to play the game of topics so that brainwashing can take place easily.

Q 8 - Why they are known as apaurushey? With example.
Ans 8 - The part which was received via deep meditation is known as apaurushey or not written with normal intellect. Like for hunger solid or semi solid food is needed, a thirsty creature needs liquid, revelation taking place inside a seeker like knowing the implied meaning of the ancient scriptures. A depressed person can be helped by increasing the will power or level of self confidence. Acting reacting in spirit is apaurusheya.

Q 9 - What is paurushey? With example.
Ans 9 - The literature written via normal human intellect. It can be written by a person or motivated by a sponsor or both. Taking betel nut as it is will be apaurushey and worshipping as ganesh is paurushey. Taking a flower as it is or describing on the basis of one's own level is apaurushey and paurushey respectively. Judging others on the basis of external appearance is paurushey. Acting reacting in flesh is also same.

Q 10 - In which domain modern subjects can be kept and why?
Ans 10 - All of them will be paurushey because every theory coming from the human intellect is fragile. They have the possibility of rejection or change due to the development in the field of science.

Q 11- How does charvaka school handles or help in this?
Ans 11 - A body is the medium needed to understand. In the order to reject the body, a body is essential. The path of understanding emerges from a balanced approach towards behavior and spiritualism or understanding consciousness. And charvaka is the first step of this path.

Q 12 - Do you want to say that mathematical formulation idea is supported by Indian philosophy to understand mind, behavior, etc?
Ans 13 - Yes. Terminology may differ but the thing is same. A well established method is there.

Q 13 - It means cognition of physical world with mental or / and intellectual world had been studied in that?
Ans 13 - yes. But it is in codified form. And rishis of Vedic age gave the formulas to decode and judge them.

Q 14 - But Indian philosophy also defines consciousness in ways. What about that?
Ans 14 - Nothing contradictory or confusing or tendency of defeating eachother but teaching according to the grasping power. It isn't a case of show business where one popularizes own brand at any cost.

Q 15 - What about duality, non duality etc?
Ans 15 - These are body related concepts. Nothing to do with absolute reality or consciousness or ultimate truth.

Q 16 - What's harm in calling everything as illusion?
Ans 16 - People consuming uncontrolled amount of narcotics, alcohol also thinks like that in many cases. In extreme mental cases this feeling arises if not checked properly. This is related with one's own existence and it makes the total difference. Sometimes concept of illusion is used as a shield to save own interest and harm others like when others object, oppose, etc they are said 'everything is illusion or God's will'.

After this small introduction we will enter into the main topic in short but brief.

Youngsters born and brought up in other nations must know the balanced approach of Hinduism between behavior and spiritualism. The rishis of Vedic age gave the formulas to judge the authenticity of any scripture or commentary or any other form of presentation. Therefore it is not the case of interpretation but based on the time tested parameters and penance.

Everyone wants to be happy and healthy span of life but it isn't possible everytime, everywhere and by everyone. A single individual can not stay in the same level of health and happiness everytime. Indian philosophy cares about that like caring parents.

The concept of community living is present in Hinduism and expressed by the schools of Indian philosophy. The first one Charvaka talks openly about happy span of life. It is possible by exercising control over consumption of goods and services. In fact this is the first school who attached happy life with the departure or death.

Now one can analyze the need of rituals or belief from the dimension of philosophical theology. The Hinduism developed in India which had agro based economy. The local agricultural products became the part of the ritual or ritual based belief. The financially backward class got the help required by selling agro products. A farmer's wealth is in the form of cultivation. And it stays open under the sky day and night. The animals like cow, buffalo etc are there for help but they also need investment for maintaining their health. The farm products creates jobs for many. So we see that economy of an area gets developed. One can easily see the vision of 'live and let live' which is practically practised. The point to be noted is the entry of philosophical schools asking questions about the dogmatic attitude or fanatism or ulterior motive wherever seen while promoting belief(s).

Biologically there are many changes in the human body when it touches the age of adolescent. The uncontrollable waves of emotions hits the mind now and then. There is a need of being familiar with the vision of Hinduism related with day to day behavior in the life of teenagers.

A list of videos will be shared which are based on this vision.

The knowledge of self is based on attributes or superimposed identities. Hinduism as a whole asks a person to realize beyond that. Superimposed superficial identity is always relative in nature or based on profession, position, personality, etc. Yaksha yudhisthira samvad which is a 124 Q & A session deals this in brief. The relative reality is not rejected but Hinduism asks not to flow with it continuously. This book helps in becoming a good administrator on the basis of Hinduism. Our upanishads asks the youth to enjoy the available wealth of earth after becoming genius in one's own field of profession. Though a metaphor but signal is clear. The scriptures of higher order never favours poverty.
